Faculty & Staff: Scanning & Copying

Scanning

ITS recommends using the Scan to Folder function when using the scanners. By default, Scan to Folder will generate a black and white PDF at 200dpi. You can use the menus to change both the dpi and file formats.

Scan to Folder

  1. Scan your PennCard (student printers only).
  2. Insert document into feeder
  3. On the printer control panel, tap Folder and select the destination folder (your department name).
  4. Type a filename by typing on the current name (Untitled).
  5. Press Start.

Scan to Email

To avoid filling up your mailbox, Scan to Email should only be used when you are unable to use Scan to Folder.

  1. Scan your PennCard (student printers only)
  2. Insert document into feeder.
  3. On the printer control panel, press Email.
  4. Press the To field and enter your email address. LawKey usernames will automatically complete with the closest match.
  5. Customize the rest of the message as desired then press Start.

Copying

  1. Scan your PennCard.
  2. Insert document into feeder.
  3. Touch Copy.
  4. Touch Original to describe the document (e.g. two-sided)
  5. Touch Copy to set the output settings (e.g. staples)
  6. Press Start.

General Notes

Powersave: The MFP units will go into sleep mode between 7:30PM and 7:30AM when idle. During this time select the Start button to initiate power up from sleep mode.

Reset: Use reset to log out of the printer or to clear settings from a previous scanning session.

Feeding Paper: Place paper face down in the feeder tray.
