Accessing Penn Office 365 Teams/SharePoint Sites

Penn Carey Law has a dedicated Microsoft Office 365 organization (Teams, SharePoint, Email, OneDrive, etc.) that Law School users access via their LawKey account.

On occasion, Law users may need to access Teams or SharePoint sites hosted in the Penn O365 org. All Law faculty/staff have a login to Penn O365 using their Penn email (username@upenn.edu) and PennKey password. Some Law users may also have guest accounts in the Penn O365 org that allows them to login with their LawKey account. More details below.

Accessing a Penn O365 SharePoint site

Penn O365 users can add Law school faculty/staff to a Penn O365 SharePoint site by using the Share option and searching for the person by their name. Once added, an email will be sent to the Law School user, who can copy and paste the link into a private browser window.

[How to open a private browser window: Edge | Chrome]

Then login to the site with your Penn email address (PennKey@upenn.edu) and PennKey password.

The PennKey login prompt will look like below.

If you do not use a private browser window and your LawKey is used to login to the page, you will see the error below:

Accessing a Penn O365 Teams Site

Some Law School users may have a guest account that allows them to login to the Penn O365 org with their LawKey (instead of using their Penn email address and PennKey password) and may be added to a Teams site with this account.

You can also be added to a Teams site using your Penn account so that you sign in with your PennKey login.

The new Microsoft Teams client makes it easy to switch between different orgs and accounts once you add them. Click your profile picture in the top right corner of the Teams app and select the org or account you would like to switch to.

You can also see activity and receive notifications across orgs/accounts.

Penn O365 Teams site owners can contact ISC client care (help@isc.upenn.edu) to request that Law users are added to a Teams site.
