What is Office365 SharePoint Online?
-
Cloud-based service that helps organizations share and collaborate with colleagues, partners, and customers.
-
With SharePoint Online, you can access internal sites, documents, and other information from anywhere- at the office, at home or even from a mobile device.
-
SharePoint is also used to create powerful websites that have features to allow working together in multiple ways.
To access your SharePoint Online Sites, visit the Penn Carey Law Office 365 Portal at https://o365.law.upenn.edu and click on “SharePoint” from the all apps grid shortcut icon on the top left corner, or click on the link below. You can also follow sites to have them listed for easy access on the sharepoint landing page.
To request a new SharePoint online site, please use our Service Catalog.
Following Sharepoint Sites
Users can access SharePoint sites that they use frequently from the Sharepoint landing page by following the site.
First, go to the site and click the Follow option in the top right corner.
Once you follow a site, you can access it from the Sharepoint landing page on the left, and also see frequently visited sites on the page.

Syncing Sharepoint sites locally
All non-secure Sharepoint sites can be synced locally with your file explorer to allow easier access to files without going on Sharepoint Online on your web browser.
- Make sure your OneDrive sync client is running (blue cloud icon on the bottom right of your desktop taskbar).
- All files are on demand which means files will get downloaded as you double click on them after they’ve synced.
- If your onedrive sync client isn’t running, any changes you make locally won’t sync back to your sharepoint site, but it will sync back once you reconnect.
