To Do

Microsoft To Do is a cross platform app for creating, managing, and sharing Tasks and Lists. To Do is integrated with Office 365 so any task list can be easily created, edited, and shared from the office, home, or on the go.

Planner

Planner is a web-based and mobile application that lets you create project plans, assign tasks, chat about tasks, and see charts of your team’s progress. Planner can be implemented within a Teams site or as a standalone project. 

Some benefits of Planner include:

  • Efficiently assign and organize tasks
  • Set deadlines and track progress
  • Share files
  • Communicate with your team members

Here are some differences between To Do and Planner:

 

Tasks app in Teams

The Tasks app in Microsoft Teams brings together your individual tasks from To Do and Outlook with your team tasks from Planner so you can more efficiently cross them off your lists. Use the unique List view to change many tasks at once, and easily find and edit them. Use the Tasks app to work on To Do and Planner tasks alongside the Teams channels, chats, and apps you’re used to.
