Starting a Clinic Simulation Recording: Guide for Faculty & Staff
To record Simulations, Clinic faculty and staff can use Panopto. Panopto also facilitates the live webcast of simulations.
Once a recording ends, the video is available on the Canvas page of the particular course indicated in step (6). Recordings automatically upload to Panopto, and are available through Canvas approximately 30 minutes after the recordings ends.
Starting a Recording:
1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://pennlaw.hosted.panopto.com/
2. Sign in with PennKey credentials:
3. Click on “System:”
4. Select a Remote Recorder:
5. Your Remote Recorder Preview will open. Give your session a name:
6. Select a Folder. The “Simulation Recordings” has different permissions depending on the specifications set by the instructor of the course. Simulation Recordings are either open to all students in the course, or clinic staff need to send individual students links to their recording. 7. Choose a Duration (you can always extend it later):
8. Check “Webcast.” This makes the session available as a live stream, accessible through Canvas:
9. Click “Record:”
10. The text will briefly read “Syncing with Remote Recorder,” and then the recording will start. If you see the “Stop” button, your recording is successfully running:
