Information about ChatGPT & AI

ChatGPT (https://chat.openai.com/chat) is a natural language processing tool developed by OpenAI. The language model can answer questions and assist you with tasks like composing emails, essays, and code.

Important Guidelines:

  • Users should not put confidential/sensitive information into the system including FERPA, PHI/HIPAA, financial or other regulated data. For more information about Penn sensitivity standards: Penn Data Risk Classification | UPenn ISC
  • As of April 2023, ChatGPT has an option where you can disable chat history. By disabling the history, your data will not be used for AI training purposes and will be deleted by ChatGPT in 30 days. More information.
  • Data privacy information can be found here.
  • This is new technology and there are no expectations/agreements for data privacy and security. Data entered into ChatGPT should not be considered private.
  • ChatGPT-4 currently has a limit of 25 messages every 3 hours. The other models do not have limits.
