Add/Drop List

The Add/Drop List displays a record of students who have dropped or added your course.

Announcements

Announcements allow you to send messages through Canvas to everyone enrolled in your course and are delivered according  to each individual’s notification preferences.

Appointment Scheduler

The Appointment Scheduler is part of the calendar and allows your instructor to create appointment groups (collection of individual appointments) that you can sign up for.

Assignments

Assignments is a tool that allows students to upload files and assignments.

Course Evaluations

Course Evaluations are student questionnaires that are required in most courses. Course Evaluations consist of 15 standard questions as well as any additional questions you wish to include.

Course Roster

The Course Roster provides a list of all the students in your course, organized in alphabetical order and accompanied by a photo.

Discussions

This tool allows focused and threaded discussions to be created. Discussions are date stamped when created, or replied to, and can be enhanced with any rich media like video, images, wikis, or files attachments.

Grade Sheets

Use the Grade Sheets to download anonymous or standard grade sheets to submit exam grades to the Registrar’s Office.

Media Requests and Panopto Recordings

The Media Requests form allows faculty to select the instructional technology needed for their courses. Panopto Recordings is where class audio and video recordings are posted to in Canvas for your students to stream or download.

Quizzes

This tool allows the instructor to create various types of quizzes and/or surveys for the students. Parameters such as the due date and the number of attempts can all be specified when creating the quiz. Surveys can be used, for example, to investigate the students’ opinions on a certain subject.

Seating Chart

Online seating charts provide an easy way for students to choose seats or to receive assigned seats from the instructor.
