Accessing your Email on a Mobile Device
Students and alums can access their Penn Law email on their mobile device. In order to connect, a passcode is required on the device.
Passcodes
All mobile devices connected to the Law School email servers are required to have a passcode lock.
- iPhone/iPad: From your Home screen, tap Settings > General > Passcode Lock > Turn Passcode On
- Android: From the Home screen, tap Menu then tap Settings > Location & security > Set up screen lock > Pattern, Pin, or Password. (Note that if you currently use a pattern, you will need to switch to using a PIN or password.)
iPhone & iPad
Setup Mail and Calendar
- Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Microsoft Exchange.

Fill out the requested fields using the appropriate information below and tap Next.

Office 365
- Server: outlook.office365.com
- Domain: (Leave blank)
- Username: lawkey@pennlaw.upenn.edu (or lawkey@penncareylaw.upenn.edu for students entering JD ’25 and later)

- If your device was unable to locate the server, enter the Server above and tap Next.
- Choose what you would like to sync data you would like to synchronize and tap Save.
Note: Only 3 days of email is synchronized. To synchronize more, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > your Exchange account > Mail days to sync.
Android
Setup Mail and Calendar
The software on Android phones vary between different models and carriers. Please consult your phone documentation or contact your service provider’s help line for specific instructions. All of the information needed to connect is located in Step 6.
Note: You must request access from ITS before you are able to connect your device.
- From the Applications menu, tap Email.
- Tap the Menu > Accounts.
- Tap the Menu > Add Account.
- Enter your email address and password and tap Next.
- Tap Exchange account.

- Domain\Username: lawkey@pennlaw.upenn.edu (or lawkey@penncareylaw.upenn.edu for students entering JD ’25 and later)
- Server: outlook.office365.com
- Use secure connection (SSL): Checked

- Choose your sync options, tap Next, set your name, and tap Done.
Outlook App
All Office 365 users have access to use the Outlook app for iOS and Android. Outlook for iOS and Android lets you manage your Penn Law email accounts, calendars, contacts, and files without switching between different apps. To setup your email on the Outlook app, install the app from the appropriate link below, click Add Account, choose Exchange, and enter the Office 365 info listed above.
