GLPF Application Guidelines

Selection Process

1L or 2L students currently enrolled at Penn Law are eligible to apply for GLPF.  Please note that the individual criteria used for selecting an intern lies solely within the discretion of the overseas firm, as does the degree of follow-up they choose to pursue with their candidates.

The application deadline for most placements is Monday, January 27.

Notifications of internship offers will be made in February-March. Acceptance of an internship offer will be considered binding.

Funding up to $5,000 for a 8 week internship is available for unpaid (or minimally paid) placements. Students must fill out the Summer Funding Application (available on February 3, 2020, and due on March 6, 2020). Student must also contact Caroline Ruhle immediately after accepting a GLPF placement offer and submit a GLPF Funding Application to be eligible for funding.

Students may also apply directly to foreign firms not yet involved in GLPF. Upon review and approval by Penn Law, the internship may be eligible for funding.

Caroline Ruhle, the International Career Counselor, is available to meet individually with prospective GLPF applicants to discuss their interests and skill sets.
