Technology Training and Assistance for Wrongful Conviction Entities

Technology Training and Assistance

As a current Technology and Training Assistance provider under the Upholding the Rule of Law/Wrongful Conviction Review Program from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the Quattrone Center is currently working with Wrongful Conviction Entities (WCEs) across the country to assist them in the design and execution of programs that achieve the goals outlined in their proposals for BJA funding.

Our mission is to empower wrongful conviction review entities through innovative data solutions, expert technology assistance, and tailored training. We harness the power of data to enhance case analysis, streamline processes, and ultimately contribute to the pursuit of justice for the wrongfully convicted. We can assist grantees under the Upholding the Rule of Law/Wrongful Conviction Review program with specialized data analysis and technical services, including the following core services:

Data Management and Analysis

  • Design and implement customized data collection processes and management systems
  • Clean, validate, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends in wrongful conviction cases
  • Apply statistical models and machine learning techniques to uncover potential wrongful convictions
  • Develop predictive models to support case prioritization and resource allocation
  • Provide ongoing technical support for data-related issues and challenges

Data Visualization and Reporting

  • Create interactive dashboards for real-time tracking of case progress and outcomes
  • Design clear, compelling data visualizations to communicate complex information
  • Generate comprehensive reports for grant reporting, program evaluation, and stakeholder communication
  • Compile data, observations, and analytics into final reports to evaluate program success and share best practices

Technology Implementation and Training

  • Develop custom applications to streamline workflow and case management processes
  • Provide training on data analysis tools and software (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Assist in implementing and optimizing case management platforms (e.g., Clio, Airtable)
  • Explore and implement emerging technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), for case review and analysis

Strategic Consultation and Ongoing Support

  • Collaborate with legal and investigative teams to integrate data analysis into actionable insight
  • Assist in developing data-informed policies and procedures for grantees working in wrongful conviction entities
  • Conduct regular check-in calls and project update meetings to discuss progress and challenges
  • Contribute to the development of resources and guidelines for data collection and analysis in wrongful conviction review
