Stephen J. McConnell is a member of Reed Smith LLP. After graduating from law school, McConnell clerked for Judge William A. Norris of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and then served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Central District of California (Los Angeles), where he investigated and prosecuted criminal cases in the Major Frauds Section. He also served as counsel to independent commissions that investigated the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. At Reed Smith, McConnell represented clients in the litigation and trial of product liability cases (including in the mass tort context), as well as in securities, complex commercial, and white-collar criminal cases.
