Peter T. Grossi
Adjunct Professor of Law
Peter Grossi is a retired partner of the Litigation Group at Arnold & Porter LLP.
He served as National Counsel for Wyeth in its Diet Drug cases, obtaining the first defense verdict in a Diet Drug jury trial, and thereafter tried many more cases to successful conclusions. He was also the senior supervising attorney working with other teams in the other 40 cases tried to verdicts.
Prior to his work on the Diet Drug cases, he defended a number of other pharmaceutical companies, as well as those in other industries, in product cases. Each year from 2009 to 2018, Chambers USA named Mr. Grossi as the “Senior Statesman” of the national product liability bar.
Grossi is a lecturer at Harvard, Columbia, and the University of Virginia Law School and has taught trial practice and product liability to national meetings of the Defense Research Institute, Yale, the AEI-Brookings Judicial Education Program, and the ABA Section on Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution
In 2012, he received the Penn Carey Law Award for Best Adjunct.
Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, he clerked for the Honorable J. Joseph Smith on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
