Lee J. Dobkin

Lee J. Dobkin joined the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) of the University of Pennsylvania in March 1997, and in September of 2001 was named Chief Counsel for Penn Medicine and Deputy General Counsel for the University.
In that capacity, he oversees all of the legal work which OGC does on behalf of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Mr. Dobkin previously served as the Chief of the Public Corruption and Labor Racketeering Section in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 1994 to 1997 and as an Assistant United States Attorney in that office from 1986 to 1994. He began his legal career as a Litigation Associate in the New York law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.
Mr. Dobkin attended Amherst College (B.A., cum laude, 1978) and received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1982). Mr. Dobkin has taught law at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, Temple University School of Law; and Widener University School of Law.
Mr. Dobkin is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). He is admitted to practice law in New York, Pennsylvania, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
