Eleanor Barrett

Eleanor Barrett L'05 is the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.  She previously developed, administered, and taught in Penn Law's Legal Practice Skills program as the Denise A. Rotko Associate Dean for Legal Practice Skills.

Before returning to Penn Law School, Barrett served as a law clerk to the Honorable Marjorie O. Rendell of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and worked in private practice in Washington, DC and Philadelphia, where she engaged in all aspects of federal- and state-court litigation, with a particular focus on writing trial- and appellate-level briefs.  In between college and law school, Barrett worked as a financial analyst.

Barrett graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with an A.B. in Public and International Affairs and received her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.  As a student at Penn Law School, Barrett was named Best Oralist in the Edwin R. Keedy moot court competition and served as a Legal Writing Instructor, teaching legal research and writing to first-year students.
