Lecturer in Law
Tom Sharbaugh is a partner in the Business and Finance Practice Group of Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, resident in Philadelphia. Mr. Sharbaugh’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions for a number of domestic and foreign clients, as well as securities offerings involving publicly and privately held companies and general corporate advice to a number of ongoing clients of the firm. He is also active in representing investment funds and investors in venture capital and other transactions that are exempt from registration under the federal securities laws.
Mr. Sharbaugh recently stepped down as the firm-wide Managing Partner for Operations of Morgan Lewis, a position he held for more than 14 years. In this role, he had day-to-day responsibility for the operations of the international law firm with over 3,100 personnel, including approximately 1,400 lawyers, located in 25 offices in 10 countries. His duties included working with the firm’s 10 practice groups as well as its primary service departments, finance, information technology, human resources, marketing and facilities.
He has been a director of several publicly and privately held corporations and a trustee of a number of schools and other non-profit organizations. Mr. Sharbaugh is currently the Chair of the Board of Managers of Pennsylvania Hospital and a member of the Board of Trustees of Penn Medicine. He is also involved with a number of advisory boards related to Penn State.
Mr. Sharbaugh obtained his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, magna cum laude, and a bachelor of science degree in economics from Penn State, with highest distinction.
