Robert Lapowsky

Robert Lapowsky is Co-Chair of Stevens & Lee’s Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Department. He has been an active practitioner in the area of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights since 1979. He represents financial institutions, debtors, creditors’ committees and trustees in all aspects of the corporate reorganization practice. He is a Fellow in The American College of Bankruptcy, a national invitation-only honorary professional society of bankruptcy and insolvency professionals.
Mr. Lapowsky has been named to The Best Lawyers in America annually since the 2007 edition in the area of Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law and, since 2008, has been recognized annually by international legal research publisher Chambers & Partners as one of the leading bankruptcy lawyers in Pennsylvania. As published in Philadelphia magazine, he was recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer from 2004 through 2014 by being selected by his peers as among the top 5 percent of lawyers in the Commonwealth. As part of this recognition, he was named one of the top 100 attorneys in Philadelphia in 2005 and 2006.
Mr. Lapowsky received a J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University in 1979 and a B.S. from The Pennsylvania State University in 1975.
