Michael J. Rinaldi teaches an upper-level course focused on federal civil litigation and writing skills.

Mr. Rinaldi is an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Deputy Chief, Economic Crimes, at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Previously, he was a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division.  Before his move to the Department of Justice, Mr. Rinaldi served as Senior Trial Counsel for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Prior to his government service, Mr. Rinaldi was an associate at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP and Arnold & Porter LLP.  While in private practice, Mr. Rinaldi engaged in a broad litigation practice, including securities litigation, SEC enforcement defense, health care fraud and abuse, intellectual property litigation, and complex commercial litigation.  Upon his graduation from law school, Mr. Rinaldi clerked for Vice Chancellor Leo E. Strine, Jr., of the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Mr. Rinaldi received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Villanova University. Formerly, he was an elected member of the Wallingford-Swarthmore Board of School Directors, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
