Lecturer in Law
A native of Washington, DC, James Temple received his B.A. from Swarthmore College in 2000 and his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2006. Since then, he has worked as a staff attorney for the Defender Association of Philadelphia, providing representation to thousands of indigent criminal defendants in preliminary hearings and in bench and jury trials. Immediately prior to becoming an instructor in the Penn Clinical Program, he worked for two years in the Defender’s Appeals division, briefing and arguing cases in the Superior and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania.
