Christina Fournaris

Christina Mesires Fournaris is a partner in Morgan Lewis’s Personal Law Practice. Since joining Morgan Lewis in 1991, Ms. Fournaris has been committed to counseling clients on all aspects of estate, tax, and generational wealth planning. She regularly advises high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational family groups, entrepreneurs, and owners of privately held businesses.
Ms. Fournaris’s work for family groups and family offices includes providing counsel on the management of family holdings and various trusts representing members of a family. She facilitates family meetings to assist with developing a mission statement and educating family members on the importance of trusts and the tax and investment considerations for various family trusts. In addition, she regularly advises business owners prior to major liquidity events and structures transfer tax vehicles to shift wealth to the next generation in a tax-efficient manner.


Ms. Fournaris understands the needs and unique opportunities for women business owners and dedicates a significant portion of her practice to counseling women business owners as well as other women who control a family’s wealth. She also has experience in philanthropic and charitable gift planning. She advises clients on charitable planning techniques, including major planned gifts of various assets, charitable trusts, and private foundations.


Ms. Fournaris also works with individual and corporate fiduciaries on trust and estate administration matters, including providing counsel on best practices and federal and state fiduciary income tax implications.


Ms. Fournaris is a member of the national attorney network of a global financial services company, a member of the American Bar Association, a former member of the Executive Committee of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and a frequent lecturer to a wide variety of audiences, including insurance, financial, and investment professionals and advisors.


Ms. Fournaris received her J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1991 and her A.B., cum laude, in government and music from Smith College in 1988. She is actively involved with Cornell Law School’s alumni community.


Ms. Fournaris is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
