The video shows that class action suits can be abused. Discussess a chemical spill that occurred on July 26, 1993 in Richmond, California, a surburb of San Francisco. Sulphuric acid was accidentallly released by General Chemical workers unloading a railroad car. A toxic cloud drifted over residential neighborhoods and panic occurred. 20,000 people jammed local hospitals. While 99.5% were not injured lawyers and agents moved in an urged people to sign lawsuits against General Chemical reguardless if they were hurt or not. General Chemical settled out of court. The end result was higher insurance premiums for everyone.
