Discusses attempts by public schools to teach values in the secondary school classroom. The program contrasts the situations in the Octorara Area School District in Pennsylvania where the school board, in response to pressure from parents, removed all values-oriented courses and course content from the curriculum, with the Ben Franklin Middle School in Ridgewood, New Jersey where values instruction is aggressively incorporated into the curriculum. Also includes profiles of a peer counseling program at Morristown High School in Morristown, New Jersey where high school seniors are trained to help freshmen clarify their personal values, and of the Sandfords of Dublin, New Hampshire who home school their children using a curriculum which incorporates the teaching of Christian values
