Clyde Summers teaching and writing is primarily in the fields of labor and employment law, and in comparative and international labor law. In addition to contracts, he presently teaches labor and employment law, labor arbitration and international and comparative labor law, but in his 60 years of full-time teaching he has taught more than 20 different courses and a variety of seminars. He has co-edited five casebooks on labor and employment law, and published more than 125 law review articles and contributions to symposia. His writings cover a wide spectrum, but his dominant focus has been on the rights of the individual worker in relation to the employer, and in relation to the union. He is presently President of the World Congress of the International Society for Labor Law and Social Security.
