John Honnold, a renowned scholar of commercial law, former Chief of the UN International Law Branch and Secretary of the UN Commission on International Trade Law, began his career at Penn Law as a Visiting Assistant Professor in 1946, and became a full Professor in 1952. His courses included Equity, Sales, and Commercial Law Seminar. Honnold has written extensively on topics of commercial law. His works include Cases, Problems and Materials on Sales Transactions: Domestic and International Law (University Casebook) with Curtis R. Reitz (July 1992) and Uniform Law for International Sales Under the 1980 United Nations Convention (Leather Bound - March 1999).
