Is there such a thing as "legal child abuse"? A United Methodist layman - a state district judge since 1984 - says the answer is "yes" and that it happens in courtrooms every day. Judge Merrill Hartman of Dallas, while hearing child custody suits, became disturbed about damages such cases did to the children. He calls custody battles a form of "legal child abuse". Hartman started requiring mediation as a peaceful way for divorcing parents to come to an agreement on "who gets the children," and also conceived the idea for this video.
