Centre William Rappard: Home of the World Trade Organization

Written by Mark Popielarski, Recent Biddle Intern

cwr.jpgWho says the Biddle Law Library needs to have just law books?  I was walking through the stacks trying to find a book I was interested in reviewing when I came across this large, colorful book jutting out from among the others.  The cover caught my attention and I was delighted to discover a beautiful historical photograph and art book, available for preview at the WTO web site.  Centre William Rappard: Home of the World Trade Organization, Geneva contains a visual history of the building, which prior to the WTO served as the home for the International Labor Organization (ILO), and photographs of the beautiful artwork which adorns the building.  Many of these paintings and sculptures were rescued and restored by the WTO and represent a wide variety of artistic styles.  So if you are looking for a culturally and aesthetically captivating book to explore this summer, why not check out the Centre William Rappard.
