Sansom Street: Sansom Street Businesses Need Your Support!

Dean Fitts has said many times that our physical location makes Penn Law unique.  He usually refers to Wharton, the Perelman School of Medicine, Annenberg and other fine graduate schools across campus.  But our immediate horizon is arguably the prettiest block on campus—until recently.

The Golkin construction project has taken its toll on the Sansom street businesses.  In addition to our reduced student population in the summer, the sinkholes, barriers and torn up sidewalks have made it almost impossible for them to attract customers.
Let’s help them out.  Get a cup of coffee and a magazine from Avril 50 (best chocolate selection in town)!  Or maybe a haircut at Saturn.  Then lunch at Baby Blues, New Deck or White Dog.  Take a laptop or iPad with you—most have free WiFi.  Or just gaze out their windows and watch our wonderful new Golkin Hall take shape.
More info about the businesses on Sansom street is below.  Most of them have back entrances on Moravian street—easily reached from Penn Law by exiting through our historic Silverman Hall to 34th Street:

Look for the next Information Technology Services post on 11/18/2011, when we will be installing the technology and audiovisual equipment into the new classrooms, event spaces, and offices.  Until then, here are some Sansom Street links:
