I hope you all had a wonderful summer, but I am personally glad to have the hallways buzzing with activity again! I especially can’t wait to get suited back up in my scarf and hat! Fall is one of my favorite times, whether I’m attending the lecture series (including the Inaugural Paul G. Haaga Lecture in Law, Government, and Public Policy), Homecoming, Benefactors’ Dinner, or the many student events that happen each week. I am always eager to be involved in what’s going on in our halls. And hint, hint: I hope to see a terrific likeness of myself as one of the pumpkin carvings this year!
As you can see by my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, I’ve had quite a full summer and I hope you all have as well. If you would like to share any pictures of your comings and goings, especially if the Flat Goat joined you on your adventures, send them my way! I love to showcase what a good-looking bunch our friends are!
And speaking of our wonderful friends, I am forming a society this year to honor the yearly commitment of the 2000+ donors who give to the Law School consistently, year after year, at any level. When we talk about commitment to Penn Law, there is no better representative than Gary Clinton, Dean of Student Affairs. The law school is known for its unparalleled collegiality which has been nurtured and supported by Gary during his 35+ years here. Therefore, I am proud to announce the formation of the Dean Clinton Society. I hope that you will join me in thanking those who have made a longstanding commitment to their law alma mater as well as Dean Clinton for helping to carry on the traditions that make this place so special.
There are so many reasons for you to come visit me this fall. Not only do we have all of the great events that I mentioned earlier, plus a whole new crop of talented students in our Penn Law community, but we also have you…and me. Even the Goat needs to see the familiar face of an old friend every once in a while. So don’t be a stranger!
