The Quattrone Center is a national research and policy hub created to catalyze long term structural improvements to the US criminal justice system.

The Center for Technology, Innovation and Competition is dedicated to promoting foundation research that will shape and reshape the way legislators, regulatory authorities, and scholars think about technology policy, intellectual property, privacy, and related fields.

The Institute for Law and Economics is a joint research center of the Law School, the Wharton School, and the Department of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania.

The Penn Program on Regulation brings rigorous, balanced analysis from multiple disciplines to bear on important regulatory policy problems and alternative strategies to solve them, as well as on the processes of making and implementing regulation.

At the Gittis Legal Clinics, students get hands-on experience by working on real cases at some of the most innovative clinics in the country. Externships are intended to offer students in-depth study in substantive areas, supplement experiential study provided in clinical courses, and explore experiential study of subjects or activities not currently offered experientially in the curriculum.

Faculty at the Law School are interdisciplinary scholars who are deeply committed to their teaching. Their cutting-edge scholarship has won numerous national, regional, and university awards. They mentor and advise students, collaborate on scholarship, and confront the complex legal problems facing the world today.

35% of current law students identify as First Generation Professionals, and 12% are the first in their family to go to college. On average, FGP students graduate $160,000 in debt. The Law School seeks to surmount these difficulties by providing first generation law students, through the First Generation Scholars Program, mentorship opportunities and a professional network that otherwise may not have been available to them.
