Professors & Alumni Highlighted at Regional Events
So far in 2013, eight Penn Law regional alumni clubs have brought professor and alumni experts to cities around the country for talks, panel discussions, and social events.
Professor Doug Frenkel W’68, L’72 discussed “Can’t We All Just Get Along? – A Mediation Discussion” with Former Chief Justice of the NJ Supreme Court Deborah T. Poritz L’77 and the Hon. Frank Ciuffani, J.S.C. in New Brunswick, NJ, at the Frog and the Peach. In Washington, D.C. Professor David Rudovsky spoke with two Department of Justice attorneys on “Ensuring Effective Policing & Protection of Constitutional Rights – How Can We Best Achieve This?” during a luncheon panel. During another lunch earlier in DC, Esther Lander L’97, Clint Odom L’93, Rina Tucker Harris L’92, Gustavo Arnavat L’91, and Leonard Cuello L’03 discussed “Exploring Opportunities in Government & Public Service.”
Penn Law Assistant Professor of Law & Psychology Tess Wilkinson-Ryan L’05 spoke with Wharton Professor Georgette Chapman Phillips in Denver at a joint Penn Law, Wharton and Penn Club reception celebrating Penn alumnae. In New York City, Professor Praveen Kosuri talked at a joint Penn Law JD/MBA student and alumni reception at the Penn Club. Earlier in the year, the NYC Alumni Club offered a CLE talk by Professor Bill Burke-White, while in Miami, Professor Burke-White spoke with Gustavo Lopez L’98, Vice President & Regional Counsel, Discovery Latin America/US Hispanic on “Investing in an Increasingly Complex World – Perspectives from the Intersection of Business & Government” at an evening reception at Discovery. And in Seattle in February David Howard L’84, Corporate Vice President & Deputy General Counsel for Litigation at Microsoft, spoke to alumni and admitted students during an evening reception.
