Kilgore Society

Carrie Burnham Kilgore, Penn Law Class of 1883
We are proud to introduce the Kilgore Society, Penn Law’s new alumnae network.  Named in honor of our first female graduate of the law school, Carrie Burnham Kilgore, Penn Law Class of 1883, the Kilgore Society seeks to foster and maintain a community of outstanding Penn Law women, as well as support and increase the number of women in law and in positions of leadership.

The Kilgore Society seeks to fulfill this mission by facilitating opportunities for networking, professional development, mentorship, and continuing education through a number of tools.

We currently maintain an a opt-in listserve (with nearly 450 alumnae) that disperses periodic announcements and communications regarding job opportunities, upcoming CLEs, recognition of recent professional appointments and achievements of Penn Law women, and other relevant news and articles, as submitted both externally by alumnae and internally by the law school.  You can also find us on LinkedIn, where our group is quickly growing, with currently over 250 alums participating.

We also encourage face-to-face networking, and will be organizing substantive programming and early morning Kilgore Coffee Hours in various cities.  We just concluded a successful Reunion Weekend panel celebrating 130 Years of Penn Law Alumnae (featuring distinguished alumnae discussing their career paths in various areas of practice), and we are thrilled to announce the planning of our inaugural Women’s Summit 2014, a two-day conference with substantive CLE programming, a keynoted lunch and dinner, breakout sessions, and ample opportunities for networking with your fellow alumnae, set for next spring.
