Now in its third year, ACI’s Women Leaders in Environmental & Energy Law conference — a unique, intimate venue for woman-to-woman networking and mentorship — will bring together leaders from the nation’s top energy, utility, chemical, and petrochemical companies to discuss the challenges and opportunities for women in these industries. Alumnae Notes

Mary Lee Anne Kiernan, L’88 
Kiernan was announced as the new President and CEO of YWCA Greenwich. She is the former Board Chairman of the Greenwich United Way and is Chairman of the Connecticut Permanent Commission on the Status of Women and Co-Chair of the Fund for Women and Girls at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. In her new position, Kiernan will focus on YWCA Greenwich’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women and girls and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

Priscilla "Sally" Mattison L'97
Mattison participated in the “Entertainment Law” panel at Lebanon Valley College’s 12th Annual VALE Media Industries Conference in Annville, PA. She previously gave a guest lecture entitled “2016 Update on USA Concert Touring Issues” as part of the course “Navigating Artists through the Entertainment Industry” at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. Mattison is Of Counsel to Bernard M. Resnick, Esq., P.C.

Alisa Melekhina L'14
Melekhina was featured on CNN International to discuss the World Chess Championships in New York City. Melekhina is a well-known competitor in international chess who has competed in the US Women's Chess Championship and represented the US in the Women's World Team Championships. In April of 2015, she made the cover of Chess Life Magazine and authored a story about balancing her law career and chess. Melekhina is also a litigation associate at Debevoise & Plimpton in general commercial, white-collar, and Intellectual Property litigation.

Sandra Shapiro L'69
Shapiro was recently honored as one of the "2016 Top Women of Law" by Massachusetts Lawyers' Weekly. Shapiro was the first woman to be elected to partnership in Foley Hoag LLP. Currently a senior attorney and member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, Sandra counsels clients on real estate financing, leasing and zoning matters, with particular emphasis on development issues.

Shi was awarded the "2016 Women of Distinction Award" by the Philadelphia Business Journal. This award spotlights Greater Philadelphia's most influential business women who are making a difference in their community and leaving a mark on Philadelphia business. Shi isGeneral Counsel and Head of Compliance at Red Spark, LP.

Ferrier R. Stillman L'87
For the third consecutive year, Maryland Super Lawyers has named Stillman to its 2017 "Top 50 Women Lawyers in Maryland" for her family law practice.Stillman has also been named to The Daily Record'sCircle of Excellence, a distinction earned by being named one of "Maryland's Top 100 Women" three times. "Maryland's Top 100 Women" was created to recognize outstanding achievement by women as demonstrated through professional accomplishment, community leadership, and mentoring. Stillman is Partner at Tydings & Rosenberg LLP.

Call for Nominations:
The American Bar Association's Commission on Women in the Profession seeks nominations for the 2017 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award. This award, established by the Commission in 1991, recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of women lawyers who have excelled in their field and have paved the way to success for other women lawyers.
**Deadline for Nominations: Close of Business at 5:00 PM Central Time THIS MONDAY, January 9, 2017. The 2017 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Awards will be presented at a luncheon on Sunday, August 13, 2017 during the ABA Annual Meeting in New York City.
