Penn Carey Law Commencement 2024
On Monday, May 20, the Law School recognized the Class of 2024 graduates during a commencement ceremony at the American Academy of Music in Philadelphia. This year, 301 students received JDs, 101 students from over 30 countries received LLMs, 1 student received an LLCM, 2 received SJDs, and 41 received a Master in Law (ML) degree.
Supporting Vital Immigrant Defense
Students in the Transnational Legal Clinic (TLC) recently traveled to Georgia to work with the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) Southeast Immigrant Freedom Initiative (SIFI). TLC students spent the semester learning immigration law while serving clients seeking asylum and other forms of immigration relief.

Expanding Access
Annual gifts provide critical support to bolster our robust financial aid and scholarship programs. It allows us to open the doors of our institution to the highest-achieving students with diverse personal and professional experiences, improving pathways to the profession for talented students, as well as providing funding for fellowships, internships, research, and other academic experiences that give our students the flexibility to pursue their interests.
Beyond the Classroom
Experiential learning remains a core feature of the Law School’s curriculum. Funding from alumni and friends allows our students to take advantage of numerous training opportunities, deepening their understanding of the law while honing their skills in a practical setting. Donor support also supports wellness initiatives and extracurricular programming like our renowned journals that improve student life while equipping them with the tools they need for career-long success.

The Law School fosters a robust and deeply committed public interest community, integrating pro bono work and an ethos of service into every student’s experience. Contributions fuel our efforts to support the Law School’s rapidly growing public interest community, providing essential resources for everything from summer fellowships and clinics to pro bono offerings and externships.
