David A. Farmelo Lí78, a partner at Hodgson, Russ in Buffalo, New York, was elected secretary of the National School Boards Association (NSBA) Council of School Attorneys at the organizationís annual business meeting.

Steve P. Leskinen Lí78, formerly a partner with Leskinen, Cook & Higinbotham, was elected and seated as a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Fayette County, Pennsylvania.



Gerald A. McHugh, Jr. Lí79, an attorney with Litvin, Blumberg, Matusow & Young, was elected a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.

Andrew D. Bershad Cí77, Gí77, Lí80, formerly a partner with Blank, Rome, Comisky, and McCauley, joined the Philadelphia law firm of Neal A. Jacobs & Associates in the spring as Of Counsel, handling commercial litigation, healthcare law, creditorsí rights, bankruptcy and franchise law for the firm.

Paula Tumayshu Dow Lí80, formerly an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Manhattan, was appointed Counsel to U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie, District of New Jersey, the office she joined in 1994. She has been a prosecutor in the Newark office in the criminal division and the special prosecutions office.

Larry P. Laubach L’80, joined Cozen OíConnor in Philadelphia as a member of its Business Law Group. He was formerly a 21-year veteran of Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis.

John E. Xefos Lí80 and the firm Baker & McKenzie, of which Xefos is the senior partner in the firmís Riyadh, Saudi Arabia office, were featured in a article in the Middle East Economic Digest (March 29, 2002). The firm assists the Saudi government in implementing reforms of the nationís economy and legal infrastructure.

James Boyd Lí81 was named Senior Vice President of Toll Brothers, Inc. He heads the companyís operations in California.

David L. Cohen Lí81 joined Comcast Corporation as Executive Vice President effective July. He was formerly chairman of Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll LLP. (see profile via link on navigation bar at left on this page)

Henry D. Gabriel, Jr. GLí81 was appointed to a three-year term on the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law on Electronic Commerce. He is on the law faculty of Loyola in New Orleans.)
