Tour the Law School
We welcome prospective and current applicants to take a self-guided tour of Penn Carey Law’s complex nestled in the heart of Penn’s Ivy League campus.
The JD Admissions Office also offers student-led tours focused on the JD program during the fall semester. View the tour dates and registration information below for fall 2023. Self-guided tours are only available during building hours.All visitors must have a valid photo ID to enter the building.
December 11 - 21, 2023: Closed to visitors during final exams
April 29 - May 9, 2024: Closed to visitors during final exams.
May 18 - 20, 2024: Closed for graduation weekend.

The JD Admissions Office is pleased to offer student-led tours during the Fall semester on the below dates. These tours are the only student-led tours offered for prospective applicants during the 2023 - 2024 academic year. If you are unable to attend one of the below dates, you are welcome to take a self-guided tour during building hours. If you are unable to visit the Law School in-person, please take the time to view a recorded virtual tour with current students.
Registration is required. Guests are welcome to attend. We will send further logistical details about a week before each tour date.
By train: Convenient train service from the airport to 30th Street Station is available through SEPTA’s Airport Express Train, which leaves every half-hour. The fare is $6.00 (subject to change), and the trip takes approximately 25 minutes. The University City Station is about a five-minute walk west on Spruce Street to our campus. The 30th Street Station is about a 10- to 15-minute walk or approximately a $5 cab ride to Penn Carey Law.
By cab: A metered cab ride from the airport to campus generally costs $28.50 flat rate (subject to change) plus tip and takes approximately 20 minutes.
Transit by Amtrak or Bus
Amtrak provides intercity rail service to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station. Frequent service is offered to northeastern cities including Boston, New York, Baltimore, and Washington.
Intercity bus service is provided by Greyhound and Trailway bus lines from the terminal at 1001 Filbert Street.
The Penn campus can be reached from the bus station on SEPTA’s Green Line (to either 36th & Sansom Streets or 37th & Spruce Streets) or Market-Frankford Line (to 34th & Market Streets).
Philadelphia Public Transportation (SEPTA)
Philadelphia’s mass transit system is SEPTA, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. SEPTA operates a coordinated system of bus, subway, elevated train, and trolley lines that cover all of Philadelphia and parts of the surrounding counties.
There is a SEPTA stop on 34th and Market Streets, just one block away from Penn Carey Law. Several trolleys stop at 36th and Sansom Streets, also just one block away.
