Sustainability at Penn Law
At Penn Law we are inspired by the admirable goals set by President Amy Gutmann’s Climate Action Plan.
In order to help meet those goals, Penn Law’s students, faculty, and staff are continually working on sustainability efforts. Through water and energy conservation, as well as waste minimization and increasing indoor environmental quality, Penn Law hopes to reduce its impact on the planet while creating an inspiring atmosphere that continues to enhance the Penn Law experience every day.

As part of Penn’s Climate Action Plan, the University has adopted LEED Silver Certification as a minimum standard for new construction and major renovations. Thus, our outstanding new facility, Golkin Hall, meets these ambitious standards with a LEED Gold award. For example, Golkin Hall’s green roofs naturally cool the building, save on energy consumption and help the University as a whole meet its goal of increasing its green space by 20%.
