Jessa DeGroote

Jessa DeGroote was raised in Dallas and graduated with highest honors from the University of Texas in 2012. A Silverman-Rodin scholar, Jessa is an Articles Editor for the Journal of Constitutional Law, a Littleton Fellow for the first-year Legal Practice Skills Program, a board member of the Civil Rights Law Project, and was formerly a student associate for the Supreme Court Clinic. Jessa interned for the Honorable William H. Walls of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey during her first summer, alongside Counsel for Petitioner—Roger Stronach. Upon graduation, Jessa will join the New York office of Davis Polk & Wardwell before serving as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Kent A. Jordan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

 

Michael McDonald

Michael grew up in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and attended college at Saint Joseph’s University, where he graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy in 2008. Prior to law school, Michael worked in a political advocacy organization and as a campus minister. Currently, he has the privilege of serving as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review and as a Littleton Fellow for the Legal Practice Skills Program. Following graduation, Michael will serve as a law clerk to the Honorable Analisa Torres of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and to the Honorable Michael Chagares of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Michael and his wife, Meaghan, reside in Brooklyn, New York.

Roger Stronach

Roger Stronach hails from sleepy Smithfield, VA. In 2011, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A., honors, in Philosophy, Politics & Economics. Roger worked as a paralegal in Delaware before attending law school, is an Executive Editor on the Journal of Constitutional Law, and interned with the Defender Association of Philadelphia as part of the Criminal Defense Clinic. Roger also interned for the Honorable William H. Walls of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, alongside Counsel for Respondent—Jessa DeGroote. Upon graduation, Roger plans to work in corporate litigation at Potter, Anderson & Corroon in Wilmington, DE.

Jacob Lefkowitz

Jacob Lefkowitz is a New York City native and an honors graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. At Penn, Jacob serves as a Littleton Fellow and member of the Law Review. Upon graduation, Jacob will join the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
