Anya Perret L’19

Anya Perret brings a commitment to civil rights and anti-poverty lawyering to her work as a public defender representing parents involved in the child welfare system. She graduated from Penn Carey Law in 2019 and clerked for a year on the Alaska Supreme Court. At Penn Carey Law, Anya was an Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Social Change. She served in Penn’s Chapter of If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice and was the student Executive Director of the Custody and Support Assistance Clinic at Philadelphia Legal Assistance. During her 1L and 2L summers, she interned at Columbia Legal Services, the Urban Justice Center’s Mental Health Project, and the Washington State Attorney General’s Wing Luke Civil Rights Unit. Anya worked in social services and the child welfare system for five years prior to law school.
