#5 Schedule your Out of Office Message in Advance

December 15, 2010

The holidays are a fun but stressful time. Between traveling to see loved ones, holiday parties, and buying gifts, you already have a lot to keep track of before winter break arrives. Worry about one less thing and let the Out of Office Assistant automatically activate and deactivate your Out of Office auto-replies.

  1. In Outlook, from the Tools menu, choose Out of Office Assistant…
  2. Enable Send Out of Office auto-replies andOnly send during this time range:
  3. Enter the start and end times for your auto-replies to be sent, compose your message, and then click OK.
Note: To send Out of Office auto-replies to people outside of the Penn Law community, create a separate message on the Outside My Organization tab. If you’d like to use the same message, just copy and paste from Inside My Organization.

Advanced Tip: Let the Out of Office Assistant do even more by setting custom rules. Visit Microsoft’s Out of Office Assistant site to learn more.
