Historic Clerkship Attainment

During the 2021-2022 academic year, student and alumni applicants obtained 102 total clerkships – the highest number of clerkships ever attained in Law School history.

At the close of this year’s clerkship cycle, 93 University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School students and alumni exceeded previous records by landing an impressive 102 clerkships.

Students and alumni will clerk for judges in a diverse array of courts at a variety of levels of government, both in the United States and abroad.

Grace Greene L'20 Grace Greene L'20Notably, this cycle of clerkships includes two clerkships with U.S. Supreme Court Justices – a feat last achieved at the Law School 15 years ago. Grace Greene L’20 will clerk for Chief Justice John Roberts during the 2022-2023 term, and Daniella Cass C’19, L’22 will clerk for Justice Samuel Alito in 2024-2025. Additionally, Louis Capozzi L’19, who obtained his clerkship with Justice Neil Gorsuch in an earlier cycle, is currently clerking for the Justice for the Court’s 2021-2022 term.

Daniella Cass C'19, L'22 Daniella Cass C'19, L’22Other clerkships include positions with U.S. Federal Circuit and District Courts, the Armed Forces, Bankruptcy Courts, Magistrate Courts, the Delaware Court of Chancery, State Supreme and Trial Courts, and an International Court.
