May 26, 2019

Penn Carey Law’s chapter of the Federalist Society received the 2019 Benjamin Franklin Breakout award for Chapter of the Year.

Last March, Penn Carey Law’s chapter of the Federalist Society received the 2019 Benjamin Franklin Breakout award for Chapter of the Year. Peter Redpath, Vice President and Director of the Student Division of the national organization in Washington, D.C. presented the award at Penn Carey Law during the chapter’s annual symposium. More recently, the Penn Carey Law chapter of the Federalist Society was awarded the right to host the groups annual National Conference in 2021.

“We are honored to receive the Benjamin Franklin Breakout Chapter of the Year Award,” said chapter president Louis Capozzi L’19, who accepted the award on behalf of the Law School. “Thanks to my great team of officers and members, the Penn Law chapter has accomplished great things during the past year. We quadrupled our chapter’s membership, hosted (on average) almost two events per week, established new pro bono projects, and facilitated discourse on important legal issues for the entire law school community.”
