  • American Constitution Society for Law & Policy
  • American Inns of Court (AIC) - American Inns of Court (AIC) are designed to improve the skills, professionalism and ethics of the bench and bar. An American Inn of Court is an amalgam of judges, lawyers, and in some cases, law professors and law students. Each Inn meets approximately once a month both to “break bread” and to hold programs and discussions on matters of ethics, skills and professionalism

  • Cross-Cultural Society - CCS aims to promote events and speakers that explore the nexus between the American common law legal system and the legal systems of other cultures, explore the ancient origins of certain legal doctrines and evolution to their modern day form, and examine how different cultures treat the same legal topic differently.
  • Custody and Support Assistance Project
  • East Asia Law Review - The East Asia Law Review (EALR) functions both as an independent, student-edited journal, and a group for Penn Law students interested in comparative legal issues in East Asia. The mission of EALR is to provide a forum for the study of the law of East Asian nations. To that end, EALR publishes articles on East Asian legal issues from students and academics, and also arranges for lectures and small group discussions on relevant topics.
  • East Asian Legal Studies Association - publishes the East Asia Law Review and hosts a multitude of events on campus related to law and practice in East Asia. EALSA hosts a series of speakers, holds an annual symposium, and maintains a list of alumni and employment opportunities for law students interested in East Asia.
  • Entertainment and Sports Law Society - The Penn Entertainment and Sports Law Society provides opportunities for students interested in sports or entertainment law. ESLS is welcome to all Penn students, whether they desire a career in one of these fields or are merely interested in learning more about them. Through a series of speakers and panel discussions ESLS exposes students to meaningful topics in the sports and entertainment industries. In the past, members of ESLS have successfully used relationships developed through the Society to venture into the sports and entertainment fields.

  • Geeky Law Students (GLS) - GLS provide Law students a variety of creative and consumerist outlets in which to apply the systemic analysis that Penn Law provides through collective games of diplomacy and strategy and to expose students to thought provoking escapist media, such as sci-fi television and pulp media.

  • Health Law Group – The Penn Health Law and Policy Group, founded in 2009, exposes its members to legal, medical, and ethical issues pertaining to health law and policy; to generate and further student interest in health law; to facilitate dialogue in the Law School community regarding health law and related issues; and to promote and support association between law students and members of the health law profession.
  • International Law Organization (ILO) - ILO focuses on the broad issues or public and private international law and equity, such as diplomatic, political, regional, economic, technological, scientific, and environmental legal subjects.  ILO supports activities for curricular development and educational exchange, professional development, as well as public interest and pro bono initiatives.
  • Iron Chef Club - The Iron Chef Club seeks to raise money for the Equal Justice Foundation by organizing and auctioning the judging positions for a cooking competition between Penn Law professors, and simultaneously bring students and faculty members together for an informal and fun event.
  • J. Reuben Law Clark Society - Their mission statement reads “We affirm the strength brought to the law by a lawyer’s personal religious conviction.  We strive through public service and professional excellence to promote fairness and virtue founded upon the rule of law.”

  • Joint Tenant Society - The Joint Tenant Society provides social support and networking opportunities for married, engaged, and partnered Penn Law students and their partners.

  • Law and Entrepreneurship Organization - LEO aims to promote entrepreneurship among students, by focusing on the importance of entrepreneurship to the economy and to society, benefits and risks of being an entrepreneur, information on setting up a company or law firm, and providing guidance to students who are contemplating an entrepreneurial career.

  • Maimonides - The Penn Law Maimonides student organization seeks to empower Jewish Penn Law students with the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of their rich heritage, establishing well-educated leaders on-campus and in their future communities. Maimonides has weekly Lunch and Learns led by dynamic local Rabbis, presentations by knowledgeable communal leaders, a great weekly e-mail and numerous other events.
  • Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project
  • Middle Eastern Law Student Association - MELSA promotes an understanding of Middle Eastern cultures, politics, and legal institutions and also encourages dialogue between students connected to or interested in the region.
  • Mincha Minyan – The mission of this group is to assemble a daily prayer quorum in the Law School (minyan) and to pray the Jewish afternoon prayer service (mincha), in satisfaction of its members’ obligations to pray the afternoon prayers in a quorum, as defined by the Code of Jewish Law (Shulchan Aruch), and its major commentators (e.g. Nosei Keilim, Mishna Berurah).

  • National Lawyers Guild - The National Lawyers Guild is dedicated to the need for basic and progressive change in the structure of our political and economic system. Through its members--lawyers, law students, jailhouse lawyers and legal workers united in chapters and committees--the Guild works locally, nationally and internationally as an effective political and social force in the service of the people. The Penn Law Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild organizes critical responses to timely national and local issues relevant to lawyers, law students, and the community at large. In addition to hosting social and political events throughout the year, the Penn NLG is committed to creating and sustaining student led clinical programs. The most recent of these programs is the new and flourishing Prisoner's Rights Clinic.

  • Penn Law Association for Law in the Arts - The purpose of this association is to foster the cultivation of knowledge and appreciation for the arts both within the Penn Law community, as well as in the community and careers beyond Penn Law. The group will be dedicated to exploring ways students can apply their legal skills to support, promote, and protect the arts. Local scholars and practitioners will speak to legal issues surrounding today’s art and artists, including art preservation, art theft, collectors’ legal interest, and museum representation and to the legal issues art institutions face on a daily basis.
  • Penn Law Basketball League - The purpose of the league is to foster fun, physical fitness, competition and fair play among the men and women of the Penn Law community. The league is held on Fridays during the spring semester and allows the Penn Law community to play and cheer for each other. Approximately 10 teams participate annually. The Penn Law Basketball League consists of a seven week season and one week of playoffs. The champion of the league is presented with a trophy at the conclusion of the playoffs.
  • Penn Law Bioethics Society - This group is dedicated to the development of students, faculty, and alumni of Penn Law. Members are committed to education, public discourse, and critical analysis of matters surrounding the field. Past topics included definitions of death, hospital issues, and assisted suicide.

  • Penn Law Boxing Club - Penn Law Boxing Club offers the Penn Law community physical fitness and self-defense training for students, faculty, and staff, in addition to the possibility of sparring and other competitive events.
  • Penn Law Catholic Student Association - The Penn Law Catholic Student Association seeks to support the members of the Penn Law Catholic community. The association plans to offer several activities to strengthen the bonds within this community and with the Penn Law community at large.

  • Penn Law Democrats - The University of Pennsylvania Law School Democrats is dedicated to providing Penn Law students with substantive, engaging opportunities with the Democratic Party. Penn Law Democrats provides a forum for Democratic law students to contribute to local Democratic causes, and also allow students interested in politics to learn more about the Party by hosting Democratic speakers on cutting-edge policy issues, formulating campaign strategy, and more. Members of Penn Law Democrats have had the chance to work with local, congressional, senatorial, and presidential Democratic campaigns, organize voter registrations and election monitoring in the Democratic stronghold of the City of Philadelphia, perform policy research for Democratic and progressive causes, and connect with other Democratic law student organizations across the country.

  • Penn Law for Reproductive Justice - Penn Law for Reproductive Justice believes that individuals, not governments, have the right to make decisions about reproductive health. The organization seeks to foster an ongoing, meaningful dialogue about reproductive rights and the legal debates surrounding those issues at Penn.
  • Penn Law Golf Club - The Penn Law Golf Club aspires to make golf more accessible to the Penn Law community. The Golf Club conducts outings to area courses, a spring tournament, and offers lessons with the aim of building confidence in members' abilities.
  • Penn Law Gun Club – A club promoting the protection and responsible exercise of the individual right to bear arms guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.
  • Penn Law Ice Hockey - The club’s mission is to foster and promote friendship, teamwork, school spirit and exercise among members of the Penn Law community interested in ice hockey. The club is designed to include fans and players alike, with the requirement of having fun on and off the ice.

  • Penn Law Real Estate Club - The Penn Law Real Estate Club aims to further the education of law students interested in real estate by organizing meetings, panel discussions and informal activities with students, academics and businessmen.
  • Penn Law Republicans - The Penn Law Republicans seek to develop and maintain an active organization of Republicans at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. It also seeks to attract aspiring legal professionals into the Republican Party, providing for them an opportunity to achieve political expression and recognition. Finally, it aims to support the principles and objectives of the Republican Party.

  • Penn Law Softball - The Penn Law Softball Club aims to provide the Penn Law community with recreational softball activities and exhibition games, and organize the law school's continuing participation in the University's intramural league.
  • Penn Law Squash - The Penn Law Squash Club welcomes anyone interested in playing or learning how to play squash. Club members organize lessons, matches and annual tournaments.
  • Penn Law Tennis Club - The Penn Law Tennis Club aims to provide recreational and social activities for students. The club sponsors semester tournaments and healthy physical activity.
  • Penn Law Wine and Food Club - A forum for the enjoyment of good food and wine, to get to know classmates and other members of the Penn Community, and to demystify the gourmet food and wine world through a variety of hands-on tastings and seminars that focus on global wines and the foods that best complement them. The club sponsors about three events per semester that focus on wine tastings, wine and food pairings, authentic and original dining experiences and more casual wine socials.
  • Penn Law Women's Association - The Penn Law Women's Association supports women at Penn Law School by organizing academic, career, and networking events and activities focused on the specific needs of women in legal education and in the legal profession.

  • Street Law - Through Street Law, advocates teach a law related curriculum on social justice to middle and high school students throughout Philadelphia.
  • Students Against Gender-Based Exploitation (SAGE) - The SAGE Project serves survivors of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault and other forms of gender-based exploitation.  The project engages these issues in a variety of legal frameworks, including family law, criminal law, civil law, and legal education.  SAGE aims to provide legal training and hands-on experience to students interested in direct service work with survivors of trauma, and strives to prepare students for the social and psychological needs of a client that arise while engaging the client’s legal case.
  • Students Against Gender-Based Exploitation – SAGE Group (they are also a Project in the Public Service Office) SAGE intends to help the Philadelphia public interest community serve survivors of gender-based violence and exploitation (including domestic violence and rape), and to encourage student participation in the field by providing a venue through which training and hands-on experience can be gained. SAGE will be working with several organizations and individuals to serve survivors of gender-based violence and exploitation in various legal contexts – family law, criminal law, civil law, and legal education/outreach. SAGE views legal service delivery as a holistic endeavor and strives to prepare students to understand the social and psychological needs of the client while preparing their legal case. SAGE was developed to meet a critical need in the public interest community, as well as a response to a lack of clinical and curricular offerings. The overarching goal of the project is to connect Penn Law students with the training, education and exposure that they need to become effective advocates for victims of gender-based violence.

  • Urban Law Forum - To increase Penn Law students’ exposure and contribution to the study and betterment of legal issues impacting city residents, focusing on the intersection of urban planning – including community and economic development, housing, and land use – and social.

  • With All Deliberate Speed (The Penn Law Running Club) - To encourage running, and to provide support for runners at the law school.
  • Y’allSA - is designed to add a little southern charm to the Penn Law campus and share the joys of country music, fried food and front porches with our Northern brethren.  Non-Southern law students, bless their hearts!, are invited to join Y’allSA as carpetbaggers.
