B.S., Cornell University 2006

What I Am Hoping to Do with My Law Degree:

I plan to start my career by practicing intellectual property at a law firm, which will hopefully one day lead me to a career in entertainment law. If I could pick a dream job it would be General Counsel for a corporation in the entertainment industry.

My Best Experience at Penn Law:

2L year I had the lead in the Law School Light Opera Company's production of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. It was an incredible moment to see law students come together to put on a great show, getting to see the hidden talents of my classmates, and selling out all our performances with the amazing support from the Law School community!

My Favorite Course:

Sports Law. It covers a number of aspects of law including contract, labor, arbitration, anti-trust, licensing, and more, You gain new perspective on what goes into bringing you the professional sports you've always watched.

An Example of How the Law School’s Cross-disciplinary Approach Influences My Legal Education:

I will be receiving a Certificate in Business and Public Policy from the Wharton School. I think that having the extra courses and experience will be invaluable in my career, no matter what I choose to do.

Penn Law is known for its collegial environment. Why is collegiality important to a legal education? How has it affected your legal education?

If you've made the decision to go to law school, you hopefully know what you are getting into. There is a lot of work, and you spend a lot of time with your classmates. At Penn, classmates are more than acquaintances, they are friends. We're all in this together and really want each other to succeed. I can't imagine going to law school where people are ultra-competitive. This is the most wonderful environment, and is conducive to learning – not just testing well.

My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:

Celebrating the win of the Phillies during the 2008 World Series!

What I'm Most Proud Of:

My first summer I worked at Marvel Entertainment, and among other things, worked on the movies The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. When I saw them in theatres, it was great to know that I was involved in creating them!

My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:

Council of Student Representatives, Journal of International Law, Morris Fellows, Penn Law Tennis Club, Law School Light Opera Company.

What I Did For Public Interest:

As a 2L I began working for the Penn Housing Rights Project, representing Philadelphia tenants in disputes with their landlords. I have also volunteered for Perspectives Debate, which brings values-based debate to high schools in Philadelphia.

My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:

The Fisher Fine Arts Library is a beautiful building, and a great place to study away from the Law School.

Why should I go to law school in Philadelphia?

Philadelphia has a vibrant legal community as well as a close student community, and is incredibly close to both New York and DC. Every door is open to you here at Penn for post-graduation. During law school, Philadelphia is a big enough city to find any niche you want, but small enough that it is very manageable and isn’t distracting to a law student. I can’t imagine being anywhere else, and love the options the city gives me.
