Prior Education:

Vassar College, BA

Professional Experience Prior to Law School:

I worked as a paralegal in the Real Estate practice group at New York City for two years.

What I Am Hoping to Do with My Law Degree:

I plan to use my law degree in a capacity that will allow me to further the goals of creating a more just and equitable society. The areas I am anticipating working in are either criminal law, plaintiff-side trial law, financial regulation, or health law.

My Best Experience at Penn Law:

Working with the Homeless Advocacy Project.

Professor Who Influenced Me Most:

The professor who has influenced me the most at Penn Law is Professor Stephen Burbank, my Civil Procedure professor. His passion for the subject and ability to explain complex issues have inspired my motivation to explore a career in trial law (a motivation I did not have before coming here).

My Favorite Course:

Civil Procedure. I enjoy the strategy and motivations behind the use and creation of the federal rules. I also enjoy learning what a powerful tool knowledge of court procedure can be.

Describe How CP&P and the Center on Professionalism Are Helping Prepare You for Your Career:

Symplicity, resume writing workshops, and cohort meetings.

An Example of How the Law School's Cross-disciplinary Approach Influences My Legal Education:

I am planning to pursue a joint degree with the Fels Institute.

My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:

Phillies game during orientation and going to the Reading Market.

My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:

Mock trial, basketball at Hutchinson on the weekends, and flag football.

What I'm Most Proud Of:

My mom and sister.

My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:

Homeless Advocacy Project, Immigrant Rights Project, Mock Trial, American Constitution Society, Food Stamp Guild, Prisoners Legal Education, and Urban Law Forum.

What I Did For Public Interest:

Before coming to law school, I volunteered for a month in Pennsylvania for the Obama campaign, helped HIV/AIDs patients write wills, tutored in a middle school, and tutored paroled youth.
