Class Year:

2009

Prior Education:

Cornell University B.S. in Policy Analysis and Management

Professional Experience Prior to Law School:

Control Accountant

What I Am Hoping to Do With My Law Degree:

Work internationally. Develop expertise in a field that I am interested in. Represent people in the community who do not have a voice and give back to the immigrant community.

My Best Experience at Penn Law:

Getting to know the other students and learning from them.

Professor Who Influenced Me Most:

Eric Feldman. He is a great professor who cares about his students. His classes are always interesting and he encourages me to think and analyze like an attorney. He is independent and kind, and I really look up to him.

My Favorite Course:

Torts. It made me realize the complexities of the law and the tensions within the legal system.

An Example of How the Law School's Cross-disciplinary Approach Influences My Legal Education

I am now taking a class at Wharton, Customer Behavior, which is a marketing class that focuses on consumer psychology. As a consumer and a law student interested in trademark law, this class is highly relevant to me and also allows me to get to know students outside of the Law School.

Meaningful Cross-disciplinary Experience at Penn:

So far I am working with a team of students at Wharton on analyzing the marketing techniques of Land Rovers and other SUVs in the face of changing consumer preferences. I really look forward to being a part of the finished project.

Penn Law is known for its collegial environment. Why is collegiality important to a legal education? How has it affected your legal education?

Collegiality is important for learning together and sharing the law school experience. I feel that the friends I made at Penn will last throughout my legal career and hopefully a lifetime. We strive to be better together. There is so much to learn from other students, and the excellence of our student body guarantees a rich learning experience.

Penn is collegial and that made me a lot less anxious as a 1L, which made the experience that much more enjoyable and positive.

My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:

Picking apples, pears, and peaches at Linvilla Orchards last week.

What I'm Most Proud Of:

Immigrating to the U.S. with my family when I was nine and how far we have come. I learned English and am realizing the "American Dream" for my family and myself.

My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:

APALSA (Asian Pacific American Law Student Association) Treasurer. I want to be involved with a pro bono activity involving either employment discrimination, housing, or tax.

What I Did For Public Interest:

I worked at Greater Boston Legal Services for a summer while in college. I am now a Big Sister to a teenage girl and I plan to be involved in pro bono activities this semester.

My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:

I love sitting outside in the courtyard in the Law School or outside Cosi on a warm day and watching the students and talking with friends.
