Prior Education:

Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, 2006

What I Did Before Law School:

Before deciding to pursue a legal education, I tried my hand in a variety of arenas. In terms of summer experiences, I have interned with the Strategic Planning Group of American Express and the Integrated Marketing Department of MTV Networks. In addition, I spent the summer of my freshman year researching and living with the Otavalan Indians in the mountains of Ecuador. Outside of professional pursuits, I was also a performer with the nation's oldest all-male musical comedy troupe, Mask and Wig.

What I Am Hoping to Do with My Law Degree:

I am looking forward to beginning my career at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton, and Garrison in New York!

My Best Experience at Penn Law:

The Lambda ski trip was by far the best experience I have had at Penn Law. Lambda, Penn Law's LGBT identity organization, rented a cabin in the Pocono Mountains, but due to a booking mistake by the owner of the house, we ended up having to use the owner's home in the Philadelphia suburbs. The whole weekend was a comedy of errors, but the entire group had a blast and discovered that the LGBT community plays foosball for keeps.

Professor Who Influenced Me Most:

I think Professor Tobias Wolff has had the largest influence upon me because of his accomplishments outside of the academic arena as an advocate for gay rights. It amazes me that Professor Wolff is capable of simultaneously managing a full course load and pro-bono caseload and does so with great success. I am also happy to note that I will be following in his footsteps by joining Paul, Weiss in the fall.

My Favorite Course:

My favorite course would have to be Christian Legal Theory with Professor David Skeel. Professor Skeel is one of the nicest men alive and fantastically guides an energized class through heated debates on topics ranging from the ideal roles of church and state to legal moralism and Lawrence v. Texas.

My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:

My favorite Philadelphia moment was waking up to an announcer's voice blaring through my apartment window, "Good morning and welcome to the 2006 Carnival of the Dogs!" Although at nine in the morning on a Saturday you do not always want to listen to a terrier singing "Fly Eagles Fly" (presumably), it was an absolute blast to walk through at eleven.

What I'm Most Proud Of:

I will forever be proud of the demonstration of support shown by the Penn Law community to Lambda's protest against the military's Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy. I had always known that Penn Law was an incredible place to study as an LGBT student, but I had never really known just how deep the community's support for one another was until I looked out at throngs of students, faculty, and administrators clad in pink to show their solidarity with LGBT rights.

My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:

During my time at Penn Law I have served as the President of Lambda Law, the faculty representative for my class on the Council of Student Representatives, and the student member of the Admissions and Educational Programming Committees. In addition, I teach constitutional law at a local high school through the Marshall Brennan Program.

My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:

I choose to combine this question and answer with my favorite place and activity. To me, there is nothing more enjoyable than eating three soft shell taco supremes from Taco Bell in the Law Quad.
