Student and Alumni Profiles![]() Anita ChoiHometown:Toronto, Ontario Class Year:2010 Prior Education:Caltech (BSc Chemistry) Professional experience prior to Law School:Worked at Pfizer as a chemist making drugs! What I Am Hoping to Do with My Law Degree:Practice patent and corporate law in lifesciences and cleantech My Best Experience at Penn Law:Being a Legal Writing Instructor in my 3L year was my best experience at Penn Law. It not only gave me a chance to interact with a great group of first year law students, but I also had a chance to hone my own writing and advocacy skills through teaching others. From some of the feedback I received from my students, I really felt I had made a small but important impact on their experiences at Penn Law. Professor Who Influenced Me Most:Professor Polk Wagner because he is incredibly knowledgeable about patent law and the Federal Circuit, which interests me, and challenges students to really think thoroughly through the cases we read. My Favorite Course:Negotiations with Professor Stuart Diamond has been my favorite course at Penn Law so far. Professor Diamond's class has had such meaningful impact in my life every day, through the techniques he teaches you about negotiation. An Example of How the Law School's Cross-disciplinary Approach Influences My Legal Education:I am currently a JD/MBA student, and this is my fourth and final year at Penn Law / Wharton. I came to Penn precisely for this opportunity, and I am extremely happy with my experience. The experience at Wharton has given me new perspectives to think about companies and organizations in various industries, and adding color to the issues I tackle in law and will tackle in my legal profession. My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:Getting Philly cheesesteaks at Pats vs. Geno's! My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:Although this isn't directly on University Campus, it's quite close... My favorite place / activity is getting food at the food trucks around campus! I was initially very skeptical about getting a meal out of a truck, but I will miss this about Penn and Philadelphia! What I'm Most Proud Of:Surviving 4 years of graduate school (since I'm in the dual degree program). My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:Law Review, Legal Writing Instructor, IP Moot Court, Penn Biotech Club. |
