Student & Alumni Profiles Kanehisa WatanabeHometown:Tokyo, Japan Class Year:2008 Prior Education:Keio University, Tokyo, Japan What I Did Before Law School:I have worked as a business lawyer in Japan. Why I Chose Penn Law:Penn Law has a very good reputation on courses of business law and finance law. In addition, Penn Law’s faculty members are accessible. My Best Experience at Penn Law:Studying for exams with my friends was my best experience. The studying itself was hard and stressful; however, we helped eachother, and the stressful exam week became an impressive memory. Professor Who Influenced Me Most:Professor William Tyson influenced me most because his course (securities regulation) was the most challenging course for me. There were a lot of writing assignments as well as reading assignments. However, after every class, I felt like I learned the core essentials of complicated rules. My Favorite Course:It was the contract drafting seminar by Professor Kenneth Adams. In every class, almost every student participated. In addition, we learned how to draft contracts through writing assignments and corrections. My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:On Independence Day, I stayed in Philadelphia where the Declaration of Independence was debated and adopted. Also, I have watched Independence Day parade and fireworks here. It was a very good experience for me to consider the meaning of the ideals of freedom and independence. What I'm Most Proud Of:I have many friends who have excellent abilities and gentle hearts. My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:5th floor of the library in Penn Law! |
