
Student & Alumni Profiles E. Gokcen Tugral-GurkHometown:Isparta, Turkey Class Year:LLM, 2007 Prior Education:Ankara University Law School-LL.M. What I Did Before Law School:I worked as a legal counselor for the Turkish Foreign Ministry for six years. For the last four years of this term, I served at the Turkish Mission to the United Nations in New York. Why I Chose Penn Law:I chose Penn because of its excellent reputation, esteemed faculty members and attractive campus. My Best Experience at Penn Law:My whole year at Penn Law was a great experience. I had the opportunity to meet friends from all around the world and further built upon my legal foundation with Penn Law’s excellent curriculum. Professor Who Influenced Me Most:I had extraordinary professors for all my classes. However, I particularly enjoyed Professor Rock’s style of teaching in both Corporations and Mergers & Acquisitions. My Favorite Course:I thoroughly enjoyed all my classes. My favorite course, however, was international finance. I found the subject very interesting and I believe that it will be highly beneficial for me to realize my future endeavors. My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:My engagement party in Philadelphia. What I'm Most Proud Of:I am proud of being a part of the Penn Family. My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:I attended extremely interesting and useful meetings and conferences at Penn. I played tennis with friends at the Penn Tennis Club. Also, I was a member of the LL.M. Committee. My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:My favorite place is the courtyard at the law school. It is a great place to meet with friends and get some fresh air. I especially enjoyed the courtyard in the mornings with a cup of tea and morning news. |
