Student & Alumni Profiles Emanuele TruccoHometown:Milan, Italy Class Year:LL.M. 2003 Prior Education:Laurea in giurisprudenza (J.D.), Universita’ Statale di Milano, Milan What I Did Before Law School:I practiced, as an associate attorney in corporate law for over two years with Carnelutti Studio Legale in Milan. I have also worked as a teaching assistant at the Institute of International Law at Universita’ Statale di Milano, Milan since my graduation. Why I Chose Penn Law:A few simple concepts: Ivy League school, excellent corporate law curriculum, a small program and the accessibility to Wharton. My Best Experience at Penn Law:I had the opportunity to meet American and international students from all around the world and to understand the concepts of U.S. legal reasoning. Professor Who Influenced Me Most:Professor William Tyson of Securities Regulation has been the most challenging, amazing, interesting and enthusiastic professor I have ever had in my legal education. My Favorite Course:Securities Regulation course taught by Professor Tyson has been the best introduction I could ever had to the mechanisms of capital markets. Also Professor Edward Rock’s Mergers & Acquisitions class gave me a useful and detailed insight of the market for the corporate control. My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:When I realized that I would be sad at the end of my LL.M. to leave the new friends, the new city and Penn Law. What I'm Most Proud Of:I also have some American friends outside the Law School. My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:I play in a basketball tournament with other law students and I have been involved with the LL.M. Association in the organization of various social events at the Law School. My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:The Pottruck Gym Center is terrific. Located just beside the Law School, it is a luxury gym center where I play basketball, squash and I have even tried to climb on the indoor climbing wall. Also the Graduate Student center is a nice location where to meet people and have a relaxing pause from the busy schedule of the Law School. Why Should you Spend One Year in the United States Attending a LL.M:I think that professionally and personally, I gained something that will be part of me for the rest of my life. |
