Student & Alumni Profiles Eszter KutasHometown:Budapest, Hungary Class Year:LL.M. 2003 Prior Education:Law School (JD), University of ELTE, Gyor, Hungary What I Did Before Law School:During my university years I had part time jobs as a legal intern at the Office of the Attorney General, Republic of Hungary and at the Office of the Ombudsman. I came to Penn Law straight after my graduation. Why I Chose Penn Law:I wanted to choose a school which has a good reputation outside of the U.S. Penn seemed to be (and proved to be) a very prestigious Ivy League school in a very friendly environment. My Best Experience at Penn Law:The LL.M. Program is a real melting pot! You have the chance to meet people form over twenty different cultures and also make friends with the American students Professor Who Influenced Me Most:Professor Kim Lane Scheppele was my Evidence professor. During the semester I also worked for her as a research assistant. Her enthusiasm and dedication towards legal fields are truly remarkable. My Favorite Course:In the spring semester I am taking the Criminal Defense Clinic. Our instructor, Elton Anglada, is really trying his best to teach us the backbone of Criminal Procedure and train us to argue in court. It is an enormous challenge for all the course participants to actually appear in court and defend real suspects My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:There are so many! Philly is a very liveable city with a lot of hustle and bustle! What I'm Most Proud Of:Coping with the difficulties of being an international student and at the same time making the best out of it. My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:I worked as a research assistant for Professor Scheppele. My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:I enjoy the fact that once you are a Penn student, all the campus facilities are available. The libraries are amazing ! And the cafes around the law school are always a good place to relax. |
